Arrival at 5:15, hotel check-in, breakfast and rest until noon. In the afternoon, a walking introduction to spring Tbilisi: the "Georgian Chronicles" monument above the reservoir, the Botanical Garden with its hidden waterfall, and the old town's carved balconies and courtyards.
Optional evening: Tbilisi sulfur bathhouse, ~ €20/person, paid on site
03
May
A day built around Georgian hospitality: the hilltop town of Sighnaghi ("the city of love"), homemade cheese and tonis bread tastings, a churchkhela workshop stop, a tour and tasting at the historic Kindzmarauli winery (founded 1535), and the sixth-century Alaverdi Monastery. Dinner with live folklore in Telavi, then the scenic drive back over the Gombora Pass.
04
May
Georgia's first capital and spiritual center: Jvari Monastery on the hill above the confluence of the Kura and Aragvi rivers, then the 4,000-year-old cave city of Uplistsikhe, once a stop on the Silk Road. Dinner near Gori at a family-run restaurant.
05
May
North toward the Caucasus, past the turquoise Zhinvali reservoir and the 17th-century Ananuri Fortress, with a mountain lunch of khinkali and lamb on the way up. The climb continues over the Cross Pass (2,395m) to Stepantsminda (Kazbegi), a mountain village at 1,500m at the foot of Mount Kazbek. Overnight in the mountains.

May
Only 4x4s reach these valleys. First stop: the Gveleti waterfalls, a small cascade followed by a larger one dropping from a cliff face. Then the Truso Gorge — a bubbling mineral lake, salt springs, chalk cliffs and the ruins of abandoned villages. Evening drive back to Tbilisi.

May
Covers all guided excursions and in-country transport for the full itinerary — Kakheti & Sighnaghi, Alaverdi, Kindzmarauli winery tasting, Mtskheta, Uplistsikhe, the Georgian Military Road, the Kazbegi jeep tour, a family-hosted dinner, and city tours of Tbilisi and Telavi. Paid alongside the base tour price; not optional.
"The Kazbegi jeep day was the highlight — the Truso Gorge doesn't look real in photos, let alone in person."

"Kakheti alone was worth the trip — the winery tasting and the folklore dinner in Telavi felt like a real evening with locals, not a tourist stop."
